As an architect interested in sustainability and beautiful materials, I have specified EcoMatrix products in homes for countertops, floors, and shower surrounds. When my family built a new home this year, we used the Minerva countertops in the kitchen. We successfully installed them last week and they look beautiful!
Jon and Alexa are great to work with on all aspects of the project; suggestions during the design phase and follow-through during construction. I will continue to use their products in my designs and recommend them to others in my profession.

When Missoula Federal Credit Union came to us looking for a building that would push the limits of sustainability, we desired to feature the use of recycled glass. We had previously completed some projects using concrete made with 100% flyash( instead of the more traditional portland cement), and were very interested in the work Jon Cross had done combining the two. We quickly enlisted Jon to the design team. We relied on Jon's experience and expertise from early design through construction and even some post construction durability testing. The result was a building that was the first in the world where all the concrete was composed of 100% recycled materials. We used Jon's designs for cast-in-place footings and foundation walls, for precast smooth-face exposed beams and lintels, for precast exposed aggregate exterior panels and columns, for cast-in place floors that were then ground to expose the recycled glass aggregate, and even for some exterior walls and curbing. Jon was right there from early design through construction, helping the contractors fine tune the production and learn how place and finish the product. When local code officials raised concerns regarding the safety and durability of the product, we engaged Jon to complete extensive testing that proved the product not just met, but well exceeded the capacity and expected life of standard concrete. Missoula Federal Credit Union – Russell Street Branch was awarded LEED Platinum (LEED's highest level), in no small part due to the use of the 100% flyash/100% recycled glass concrete Jon helped pioneer. The project is a shining example of cutting edge sustainable technology. Literally – the exposed aggregate recycled glass sparkles in the sun. And it could not have been done without Jon Cross's leadership, knowledge, and expertise.

As the owner and builder of our home on a small lake in western Montana, we have tried to use recycled, reclaimed and re-purposed items to the extent possible. With salvaged windows and doors, locally harvested and milled flooring and trim, the Minerva countertops from GeoMatrix fit right into our plans and goals. Alexa and Jon were most helpful with design suggestions and instructions during installation.
